STATE
GOVERNMENT
The State Government is delighted to be associated with
the PAV initiative. The Premier
Alan Carpenter launched the group on 12 May 2006 and
was impressed by the extent of the local community's
support for the concept.
The State Government recently provided a grant of $5,000
to PAV for its Graffiti Busters Brigade. The grant will
enable the volunteers who will operate the brigade to
receive professional training in Graffiti removal.
The State Government has an initiative called Goodbye
Graffiti, but one of the problems all government programs
encounter is exactly the one which PAV's Graffiti Busters
Brigade will address, that they cant clean graffiti
from private premises without the permission of the
owners.
By enlisting local residents and businesses as members,
PAV not only solve this problem but give the community
a sense of ownership and participation. The State Government
is proud of the contribution of WA police to the PAV
initiative and supports any initiative which facilitates
a closer relationship between authorities and the community.
